See what the Lord is up to!
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.”
Out with the old...
Do you not see or understand the new things God is doing in your life or the new direction he is leading you down? Grasping that may not change the immediate circumstance, but it gives you hope that God is doing something new.
Getting to the new requires letting go of the old. The most difficult aspect of change is often not what is in front of you but letting go of what’s behind you. There is another important verse in this chapter of Isaiah.
...In with the new
The only way you can embrace what God has ahead of you is by letting go of what is behind you. This is where your faith and trust in God’s plan for your life kick in:
The problem with comfort...
Too often, we find letting go difficult because it means letting go of what we know and believe we are sure of. However, holding on to that prevents you from walking into the new thing God has for you.
The Good News is...
Although looking back hinders you, and while you may feel scared, nervous, or even a little anxious, know that in times of uncertain change, you can trust in a God who never changes.
This is the hope that faith in God brings.
Honestly, the steps toward something new can sometimes feel shaky, but if you embrace the process, you will experience all that God has for you.
